So it is definitely summer...I'm not really sure what to do with myself...I am bored most of the time since I don't have a job yet (I am looking)...all of my friends have jobs.  Yeah I know I sound pathetic...that's mostly because I am.

So, coming home has been an adventure in itself.  I didn't realize how much it was going to affect me.  I left MN with the intention of coming back to the same world, but I guess life isn't that easy.  I haven't really changed an incredible amount, but the little of me that has been affected has made all the difference.  I don't feel like I belong anywhere which I am sure will subside in time, but its hard now.  My good friends have all adjusted to life without me, whereas those friends who weren't the closest to begin with haven't changed at all (well at least to me)...that means that I feel the closest to them now.  It is very bizarre.

Plans have changed...Tony and I are now going to Cherbourg, France because that is the only place to actually catch the ferry to get to Ireland...that means we are traveling from 623-410 tomorrow morning and then we are hopefully going to get on the 17 hr ferry that brings us to Rosslare, Ireland...then we have to catch another 3 hr train ride to Dublin. Wow I am so glad we decided to stay in Amsterdam for my bday and not start that LONG day of travel.  Of course that is also all dependent upon whether or not we can catch the 11 am train to Paris from Lille...we dont have reservations and who knows if the french will even let us stand on the train.   If we cant make that train though, then that means we have to stay overnight in Cherbourg...I had no idea it was going to take 2 days to get to Ireland...  Ok so I just wanted to let you know that I am indeed not going to make it to London...I am bummed but there is only so much one can do I suppose.

Wow it has been a long while since I have posted...I am in Amsterdam right now sitting in an internet cafe with the people next to me smoking a joint...interesting, huh?  Dont be worried about me, though, because I am not going to take advantage of the legalization of marijuana here. :)  Tony and I traveled 19 hours on 4 different trains yesterday all the way from Stockholm, Sweden.  It was a long day and then when we finally got to Amsterdam we had a ton of issues trying to find our hotel...  After an hour and a half of walking around and 30 Euro wasted on cab rides we finally got to the hotel (even though we had already been there and they turned us away...told us to go to the other Quentin...we went there and they told us to go back to where we had just come from).  It was a long day.  Leaving Italy was hard to do, but I am ready to come home.  I went to Paris with Keri and we met up with Pete, Tony, and Sasha.  Then Tony and I went to Weisbaden, Germany and spent a ton of time with his grandparents.  I love Oma and Opa!  They fed me WAY WAY too much though.  I had to force myself to eat it (I am NOT JOKING or even exxagerating either) so I wouldnt offend Oma.  Even Tony had to force himself, and he has 5 meals a day as it is.  After Weisbaden we went to Stockholm and now we are in Amsterdam.  Since Tony refuses to go anywhere in the UK, I think I might head there by myself for a while and then come back to Amsterdam to meet up with him.  Then we plan on going to Ireland, renting a car, and driving along the coast through the beautiful countryside for a few days...that is our plan at least...i am excited about that.  Thanks to all of you who have kept in touch with me...it means a lot.  Be home in 2 weeks.

12 days and counting...

If anyone is confused, I really have more than 12 days left until I leave for the US, but it is 12 days until I move out of my apartment and leave these girls...it is beginning to be very sad!  If anyone wants to donate money to me so that I can visit them this summer or next fall, that would be cool.   I am sure that many of you know what its like to live with people who arent a part of your families, but after spending your lives with them they become so much so you want to never forget about them...this is how I am feeling.  The problem is that they all live half a country away from me...east coast, west coast, chicago...and yes chicago is a half a world away!  Yesterday I was thinking about how life is going to be so different when I come home...I am actually quite scared because I dont know how much I have changed.  Im sure I must have changed a little bit, but until I come home and interact with people there, I dont think I will know how much I have been affected.  What if I cant connect with my friends anymore?  What if they are different to me?  What if our lives dont work together anymore?  Why am I so worried?  Is this normal?  Well this sucks, huh?
